John McCain's hand selected second, Sarah Palin, was workin' the crowd in Clearwater, Florida. She was separatin' her audience from their opponent, Barack Obama. While exhortin' the crowd to question Obama's Americanism because of some tenuous connection to a so called 'domestic terrorist', one member of her cheerin' throng suggested killin' him.

I don't want to make light of the gravity of the situation. This was hate mongering at its worst. Palin was clearly inciting the crowd and got the reaction the McCain cabal was seeking. McCain took a similar tact during one of his appearances today and got someone in the crowd to shout "he's a terrorist!" Listening to the clip of the speech I fully expected the next shout from the crowd to be "Burn him!" What's next? "He turned me into a newt"?

When I was in college, a bunch of drunk, under-sexed, knuckle-dragging types at my school sent a vaguely threatening letter to President Carter. They didn't sign their real names, of course. Nor did they provide their address. That didn't stop the SS from knocking on their doors within a week of when the letter was sent.

Of course, since then, the same SS has let the CiC continue to sit unprotected in an elementary school classroom and read a book about a goat while the entire country was under attack.
