is anyone else concerned about the "kill him" meme that McPalin are fostering?
They are really crossing a line here with the fear mongering and race baiting. What sort of "character" does this reveal? What sort of leader would desire this sort of reaction to their speech? They should be horrified. The fact that they aren't... well... that speaks volumes.

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/10/06/in_fla_palin_goes_for_the_roug.html

It was time to revive the allegation, made over the weekend, that Obama "pals around" with terrorists, in this case Bill Ayers, late of the Weather Underground. Many independent observers say Palin's allegations are a stretch; Obama served on a Chicago charitable board with Ayers, now an education professor, and has condemned his past activities.

"Now it turns out, one of his earliest supporters is a man named Bill Ayers," Palin said.

"Boooo!" said the crowd.

"And, according to the New York Times, he was a domestic terrorist and part of a group that, quote, 'launched a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon and our U.S. Capitol,'" she continued.

"Boooo!" the crowd repeated.

"Kill him!" proposed one man in the audience.

27. it took me seeing this story repeated a couple of times...
for it to really sink in. part of it is that i'm in news overload--there's just too much out there between the financial collapse, the election and everything else in the world. on first read it seemed less significant. then, it hits you over the head -- they're fomenting this. this is what they want. i think they've given up on winning in any conventional sense. this isn't the sort of message you send out to swing voters. this doesn't even seem desperate to me, because desperation implies there's still something to win. rather, this seems like drawing blood for the sheer hell of it. like, since they can't win this, they're going to awaken the sleeping dragon and see what that brings.

40. I am far from disparaging them. They guns or the people who own them.
Since I 'm one of those people who own them. I just understand that all guns are limited in their use and I don't view them as a problem solver.

Even for self defense they may be useful for the situation, the problem is far from solved though, it just moves on to the next step.

43. If the problem is an armed home invader in my home then a gun is definitely my solution.
I can't afford to wait for the cops they average 12 minute response to felony calls in my area. I don't know what you mean by moving it on to the next step.

45. Think of it like this. You have an intruder, you pull your gun on him
either they run away or you shoot them. If he runs away great. Will they return next week when your not there? Or you shoot them, being a gun owner I'm sure you have heard stories of what a judicial headache that becomes. Now what I am getting at is this, after this encounter what is to say it won't happen again? Was the problem solved?
You can also think about it like this. You keep having a fire a certain type of business, say a furniture making store. It has a lot of fuel and poor housekeeping. Every week you get a call out and every week you put out the fire. Now by putting out the fire, did you solve the problem or just put out the fire until next time.
I would say if you really wanted to stop getting a call to the same location you would develop a set of rules and put someone in charge of implementing them to limit the need for you and your guys to keep putting yourselves at risk. (National Fire Code, Fire Marshall)
I'm sure your going to say that we still need firefighter because we still have fires and other mishaps, and I Will agree with you completely, because we cannot think of every circumstance to prevent. This is also why I say having a gun is good also, not because they actually solve problems but because you cannot think of every circumstance to eliminate the risk.

Thanks for listening. Be safe. Everyone comes home.

47. If he actually comes in my house, he will definitely have seriously bad intentions.
Those ill intentions will be met with deadly force double tap center mass with .40 cal black talons. That problem will be solved. My state has the Castle Doctrine so that's not a problem either. The problem with your fire scenario is that most business owners are law abiding and follow the rules, most criminals don't. Any business that has multiple fires with violations of the fire code would be closed. I guess that would mean locking up all the criminals, that's fine with me if that's the way you want to go.

15. Made me wonder.
During the RNC a member of Code Pink shouted something and was met with a hand over her mouth while she was physically restrained and "escorted" from the arena. Presuming that the Secret Service was in attendance at the Palin speech where "kill him" was shouted, did they detain the man and question him? Does anyone know?

16. Yes this is very very troubling
There is a MINORITY of fascist racist gun toting KKK member fucktards in this country that we need to understand very clearly .. VERY CLEARLY that they are Nazis. Given the breakdown of the law, ANY breakdown of the law .. these people will be armed and dangerous.

This is my take. The mild mannered neighbor, co-worker, boss, all of whom support this cabal would, given the chance turn our liberal asses over to torture gangs, in a hot second. Oh and they will be talking about how Christian they are the next day.

Wake up and smell the enemy!
