Tues 10/7 Debate - advantage; McCain
Town Hall Style - said to be McCain's strong suit

McCain has a solid lead in Tennessee Obama 38.0 McCain 53.7 +15.7 (http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/maps/obama_vs_mccain/#data)

the advantage goes to McCain as does the pressure to perform.

But what about expectations? have they been lowered or raised? are mccainiacs expecting a bazzoka-wielding mccain to blow Obama out of the water or are they praying that mccain doesn't blow himself up?

how much of the issues and his own platform does mccain have to actually discuss with some substance for it to be considered a win?

The first debate mostly focused on foreign policy - something that was suppose be mccain's area of expertise, yet he barely held on and polls among independents gave the debate to Obama.

I'm expecting more of the same attack attack attack from mccain, and if he even mentions his own platform it will be all fluff and no stuff. Obama's answers will have more stuff and less fluff. Selected questions will be from the audience and internet. I am expecting quite a questions will be about the economy - whether they will be soft cottonball or hardball question...

I'm hoping for a mccain implosion - but doubt that will happen unless Obama is willing to push mccain's big red button and call mccain's honor into question.

what do you think? what are your expectations?

1. The first debate was McCain's strong suit also.
Look what happened. If McCain goes neg at a Town Hall he will look more than desperate and erratic.

2. Oh, I am certain Admiral McCombover will rebound in this debate.
I expect him to do much, much better than the first one.

I expect people will be disarmed by his charm and wit and find that he is well-informed and his ideas are sound.

He will do much better this time.

raise the expectations

drop his "g's", pepper it with "you betcha", ignore the question and "talk directly to the people"

3. NOT his strong suit... not when the questioners are "undecideds"
No soft and often silly questions from devotees this time.

5. blatherheads are saying McCain will be getting "personal" with attacks tonight
big mistake, IMO - but given his MAVRATIC antics, it wouldn't surprise me

more level headed blathers are saying mccain needs to be cautious, focus on the issues and let his pitbull do the personal attacks.
