There could be an Aids vaccine in four years
A French scientist awarded the Nobel Prize for discovering the Aids virus has predicted there would be a 'therapeutic vaccine' for the disease within four years.

3. I hope so - but the Daily Mail tends to sensationalize things
More likely, he means that there may be a therapeutic vaccine *in the beginning of testing and development* in four years' time - and then, even if the process goes without a hitch, there might be quite a few years of animal testing and in vitro testing before even the first clinical trials with humans.

4. I do not think a vaccine is possible from what I know.
I was involved in a very large vaccine trial 20 YEARS ago that was unsuccessful. The problem is the same as it was then - a retrovirus with an isurmountable number of mutations.

While I hope he's correct, I am very pessimistic about his prediction.
