An Open Letter to John McCain

Dear Senator McCain,

I am to say the least, distressed at the tone and content of your campagin. I am disappointed and disheartened. Those are quickly becoming the three "D's" of your campaign. Distressing, disappointing and disheartening.

Eight years ago, I came to your defense and even wrote you a letter, encouraging you to keep going and not to fall victim to the horrific lies that were being told about you, and the racist slurs used against you and your family.

And now, Senator McCain, you have joined the other side. It makes me sad, to know that your entire political life will now be tinged with what is quickly becoming a hate filled and racist campaign built on lies and innuendos.

By far your biggest mistake was picking an unvetted person in Sarah Palin. Her background is so shady and so dark, with her ties to a questionable church and its anti semitic minister. Her abuse of power, and associations with the anti American group AIP. As you must well know by now the AIP founder put forth the idea of breaking away from the United States by force if necessary. Palins husband was an active member till just a couple of years ago, and Palin herself attended their conferences.

But the thing that is most disheartening. at this venue, are the racist and violent suggestions being thrown at Palin events, against Senator Obama. Palin does not even denounce them, and by doing so encourages more radical and unsavory behavior by her followers.

Senator McCain, it is too late to take her off the ticket. But remember you are the top of the ticket, and you need to have a long heart to heart with this woman, because she and her followers are going to taint your legacy in a way that will never be undone. John you are in the fall of your life, and do not have the time, to clean that kind of hatred and taint away from yourself if it is left to keep festering and growing as it is.

I will not be voting for you, but I have before this, wished you well, and I still remember how badly you were treated in 2000, and I would hate to see, all of garbage you had to deal with come back and smother you and that be your final word in the history books.
