It means you owned someone in an argument, or you beat them somehow. Supposedly, it's the result of putting your fingers on the wrong keys and typing "owned." PWN3D

In addition to misspelling, sometimes numbers are substituted for letters:

or letters are reversed:

pr0n = porn

In the case of "pwnd", IIRC it was originally used when a hacker had "owned" a site by gaining entrance and altering or electronically defacing it.

(Strangely enough, "PWND" is also a stock symbol for a fund specializing in wind energy. Perhaps it was intentional.)
