Was McCain having a hard time breathing?
At the beginning of the debate, it looked and sounded like McCain was
having a tough time breathing. He seemed to be trying to catch his
breath.

Did anyone else notice this?

1. Yes. Gasping for breath, and lowering his voice to try to sound
"connecty" with the voters. It was really creepy.

9. Well, I suppose we can give McCain a break...
...It's not so easy, being "connecty" and mavericky at the same time!

;)

4. Yes
It was a little bit upsetting.
Maybe it is just his age or that he was very anxious.

5. I noticed
He seemed nervous and lacked the lung capacity to answer in length without breathing hard.

6. I noticed that too
He's too old. Not everyone ages the same but he has aged bad.

7. I think he was on the edge...
of blowing up. When you get angry, you tend to consume more oxygen. I should know, I was consuming more oxygen after the "that one" comment.

:bounce:

11. Now, it's...
...a baker's dozen!

Sorry, I just hopped on my computer and I didn't see another thread about it.

He sounded like Darth Vader though! I was waiting for McCain to say, "Barack, I am your father...give in
to the dark side of the force."

15. At one particularly bad point,
three or four threads popped up almost simultaneously.

10. Yep
I could hear him off camera.

I thought his nervous wandering while Obama spoke was a bit distracting as well.

12. his breathing was odd....
....his breathing was 'old' and so was his walk....he walked like the Penguin character from the old Batman TV series....rak, rak, rah....

....all johnny was missing was the Penguin's cigarette and umbrella....but it doesn't matter, Obama clearly won....

13. Man, I noticed the same thing.
I just figured it was his age that might lend to that.

17. Maybe he had a hard time answering questions
when things were not scripted. So much for debating ordinary people at a town meeting. And to think McCain was trying to convince the country that he was best in those type setting. He has finally run out of excuses. Must leave a person breathless?

Still can't figure out way Mac left early? Obama and Michele had a great time with the crowd after he left. Too much fun.

Oh, and that Navy Chief McCain was so cozy with, well, after McCain left Obama ended up talking to him and then they had their picture made, laughing, smiling and all. It was was beautiful.
