Sheriff Refuses to Evict Any More People - Chicago.
Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart has announced that for the foreseeable future he is not going to evict anyone else from a home banks have foreclosed on.

How come? He's fed up.

He says what is happening more often than not is that when his officers show up at a home, they find the people there are not the homeowners, but renters who have been paying the rent on time and had no idea the owner had fallen behind on mortgage payments.

I say Bravo. Evicting unsuspecting families from homes does no one any good.

Big (at times heated) discussion here:

He is NOT unilaterally stopping evictions at ALL. He is requiring proof that renters were given proper notice and refusing to evict renters who were not notified.

4. No "but" about it.
I agree. Please go read my comments in that other thread if you need convincing.
