It was reported on local sports radio today that the Obama campaign....
contacted the Philadelphia Phillies and made it known to them that he was available to throw out the first pitch at tonights nationally televised National League Championship game in Philadelphia between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Phillies declined stating that they didn't want to allow politics to enter into the game.

2. Perhaps, it is true but I tend to not believe it.
In an election like this year where it is fairly close, why give your detractors a chance to make you look bad. Even if Obama is up in Pennsylvania by 12%, why have him go out there and possibly get some "boos"? All the right wing media would play this up and the post the video on YouTube. Makes no sense to me why the Obama Biden team would put themselves in this situation.

4. Phillies
Anything being said in Philly about the hockey stadium being supported by taxpayers? How do people feel about Palin getting all that free press by using the Philadelphia Flyers, and ultimately the fans for her campaign?
