Can someone explain the Judge's role in Palin's case?

Is he just to oversee the final report from the committee? Is he the one who has just ordered her other email accounts be saved? Is there a second case that they are investigating? It sounds like it to my husband. Can someone explain this to me?

1. There is another case going and it is all about Palin's emails

Palin had two Yahoo accounts using at least one of them for state business. She is being sued to give up private ownership and preserve and move the accounts over to the State.

2. The e-mails were a different matter .

The only judges involved in the Troopergate thing so far were Peter Michalski who threw out the lawsuit filed by five Republican legislators seeking to stop the release of Branchflower's report, and the Alaska Supreme Court who threw out their appeal.

The other suit about the e-mails was filed by former state employee Andree McLeod.
