This was as of Saturday night. ginbarn and I were headed north on I-35 out of Austin watching the prices drop lower and lower until we pulled over in the town of Troy to get gas at $2.69/gallon.
So how are prices in your neck of the woods, with the election around the corner?
3. Last night I noticed the sign at the Exxon in my neighborhood
here in Richmond was $2.86 - it had dropped from $3.30 on Thursday, the last time I noticed. I haven't seen it yet today, but I bet it's lower than that. For some reason Richmond has been on the lower side of gas prices even at the peak of over $4.00 a gallon. We've always had cheaper gas than the states around us and up in New England where my parents live.
My supermarket gives you 10 cents off per gallon at participating gas stations for every $50 you spend on groceries (up to 20 gallons). If you let it accumulate like I do over several shopping trips it really adds up. Right now I have 90 cents off per gallon for the next time I get gas. I will save me close to 20 bucks when I go fill up. Not bad.
We were watching "Die Hard" and a gas station sign in Century City has this price on their sign, and we screamed with shock. This was the scene were the cop was buying Twinkies. Hard to remember those days of gas prices. When Christmas rolls around and there's ads about Christmas movies, this one is never included.
Thank Jah I don't drive and I say to all people who did drive and eschewed their cars after they really got taken for this proverbial ride price-wise: CONTINUE TO BOYCOTT!!!!
