is one of those business meeting slideshow thingies people used in the days before Powerpoint. and that Obama supported spending $3 million bucks on it as some sort of scam.

otherwise, his repeated references to it are absurd.

8. It certainly made him *look* dumb to bring that up again
After the second debate, Adler issued a press release about the new projector. Apparently the campaign either missed that or they just assumed they could somehow get some more mileage out of it (if they got any the first time). Like Bush, these people think Americans are all stupid.

2. I think he does it on purpose
along the lines of the $300 screwdriver or whatever used to be the standard for government waste. Shameful.

3. Probably not
I think people who think of a classroom overhead projector think McCain is confused if he thinks they cost $3 million dollars.

I think they then think of a planetarium and realize he's talking about the light show machine and that it's a good investment for our children.

4. I wish Obama has corrected him on this last night
quoting from the planetarium's press release there would've been killer.

5. 3 million doesn't seem like too much for a planetarium projector.

7. McCain knows what an overhead projector costs?
I seriously doubt it.
He dosnt know what the cost of gas is.
He dosnt know how many houses he owns.

12. Here Is What This "Projector" Is...

The original Zeiss projector...the first of its kind...was installed at the Adler Planetarium in 1930...and was rehabbed in the 80's, but still was very old technology. Ya think if this were a weapons system that used outdated technology, think he'd be against throwing billions at his defense contracting buddies?

Every year, several million people...mostly children...see the Sky Show at the Adler. As a kid I went every year and was a highlight of my school year. As a parent, we always made sure our kids took in the show every year as well...opening their eyes to the world around us. There are many great planetariums around the country, but nothing like the Adler.

Gramps is a complete hypocrite when he barks about earmarks as his own "favors" to his contributors need to be scrutinized a bit. How many lobbyists does he have on his campaign staff despite his pledge to fire all of 'em? How much did Rick Davis' company make from Fannie Mae or Randy Schunemann from Georgia or Phil Gramm? These guys have fleeced billions from American taxpayers.

13. repukes seem to get nearly a free ride on corruption
the line they have to cross to get nailed usually involves disrespecting one of their own.

it was repuke insiders, not Democrats, who nailed Nixon. Same with Abramoff.

14. Arrogance Of The Oligarchy
Add the DOJ scandal or Mark Foley or Abu Grahb or virtually every scandal of the last decade under your definition. It always erupts into a scandal due to the massive amount of corruption and abuse of power. Just like how the economy is collapsing over the excesses of GOOP-sponsored and paid-for "deregulation" these other scandals have blown up not because of Democrats, but in spite of us. All we do is just try to keep track.

For many years they could skate on a lot of their crimes as they had such a firm grip on the levers of power...now let's see what happens when they're on the outside looking in. My deep hopes are Senators Leahey and Biden are serious when they say they're full speed ahead on going after the corruption of the past 8 years should Senator Obama win and there's a larger Democratic majority in both Houses.

Cheers...
