Michelle Bachmann Hides In Bushes and Spies on Gay Rally
From "EXCLUSIVE Bachmann Footage at Rally" April 8, 2005

http://www.eleventh-avenue-south.com/archives/000491.html

Today Minnesota Senator Michele Bachmann thought it would be fun to circumvent the Senate Committee process and force a floor vote of the amendment to end domestic partnerships, and ban civil unions and same-sex marriage while we were outside rallying for our rights. Even Senate Republicans thought it was in poor taste to try to go around Senate rules on the same day GLBT citizens were making their voice heard. Her move was overwhelmingly defeated:

"The state Senate on Thursday rejected an effort to force a floor vote on a constitutional amendment that would ban gay marriage as thousands of ban opponents rallied outside the Capitol. Sen. Michele Bachmann, the Stillwater Republican who's led the push for the ban, said Senate Democrats have denied her repeated efforts to get the bill heard. Senate leaders countered that Bachmann, a candidate for the U.S. House, is flouting Senate rules to advance her own political career. At the same time, about 2,500 gays, lesbians and their supporters attended a rally on the Capitol grounds just a few hundred yards away, organized by OutFront Minnesota."

After the move didn't pan out, Michele took to hiding in the bushes to watch the queers rally. A reader tip:

"I know you're no fan of Michele. And therefore, you might be
interested in a few pics I took at the JustFair rally on Thursday of
her hiding behind the bushes watching us from afar before I scared her away with the camera."

Here's one shot.

And here's a closer view.

And here's the top of the bald guys head, plus a glimpse of her hair.

And here's all of them walking away. Notice the white blouse, light blue trousers, and the bald head of her bodygourd are very similar in all four shots. Bachmann's cowardly Minnesota Taliban self was COWERING in the bushes.

21. We have a few nuts, but Bachmann is the nuttiest of them all
She is quite simply an embarrassment to the state that is for the most part quite liberal. There is actually a chance we could get rid of her and Coleman this year. Ramstad is also retiring so we could turn his seat blue, and there is even a chance of bringing down Kline. If all that happens we could have every Congressional seat in Minnesota be blue.

10. Can't help it. I hear stories like this and think, "that poor woman...
she's a repressed self-loathing lesbian because she had the misfortune to be raised by a family with such twisted values they taught their own daughter to hate herself even before she was aware of her own sexuality."

Of course I have no real knowledge of her situation but that's always the first thing that comes to mind. We're most passionate when attacking the things we hate about ourselves.

13. Please help by donating any amount
This "bush hiding" escapade brought her to my attention. She needs to go.

Her opponent is close and was recently added to the DCCC's Red to Blue campaign.

15. Maybe she was hoping to get lucky.

It's hard work keeping those wants and desires under wraps as one leads a double life as a Gauleiter of the ChristoFacist Zombie Brigade.

22. Just plain freaky. How did this person ever achieve any political office?
It's my understanding that Bachmann "assumed" her U.S. House seat when her predecessor vacated it to pursue a failed U.S. Senate bid, and that she's been in the U.S. House for less than a year. Can someone from MN please fill us in with more information on this wacko?

Bachmann is precisely the kind of nut case whose off the wall beliefs and strange fundie ideas put our nation in the dire situation we find ourselves in today. Apparently a complete mental case who praises the likes of Ann Coulter yet has the unmitigated nerve to criticize others as "un-American". Bachmann is just another fascist creep. I hope the good people of MN realize she has to go, NOW. Bachmann should be recalled and sent to the trash bin of history where she belongs, NOT back to Washington.

23. She won the election
Conservative Mark Kennedy, who held the District seat before Bachmann, ran against Amy Klobuchar for the Senate in 2006 and was blown out by Amy. That was good.

Bachmann ran against child advocate Patty Wetterling (who won the primary election over El Tinklenberg, Bachmann's 2008 opponent) and won. That was not good.

So she didn't assume mid-term.

"She represents conservative values," is what I've been told by some Repubs I work with (frankly, I can't even talk about her with them because she's so appalling and just honestly batshit crazy - we call her BSC Michelle in our house).
Wetterling is a recognizable name in MN as her son was abducted by a stranger 19 years ago in a small town (never resolved, very sad), and it received a lot of media coverage (which it should have). Patty and her husband started a child safety foundation (which they resigned from before/when she ran against Bachmann).

I don't live in this MN district, but BSC Michelle has to go. Any amount to her opponent, El Tinklenberg, is money well spent. The DCCC recently added him to the Red to Blue campaign. The link again is:

El's raised almost $120K since she appearted on Tweety last night--and that's just through ActBlue! Awesome. Truly the power of the internet and (in my opinion) MSNBC.
