Abducted Boy Found in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS — A 6-year-old boy kidnapped from his home early Wednesday was found late Saturday walking along a street in “extremely good condition” a few miles from his house, Las Vegas Police Captain Vincent Cannito said early Sunday.

Officers received calls from people who saw Cole Puffinburger wandering a sidewalk four days after three men trying to collect drug money from the boy’s grandfather burst into the home claiming to be police officers. “Cole’s home,” said a tearful Robert Puffinburger, the boy’s father, at a press conference outside of police headquarters. “Cole’s back. I’m just glad he’s safe and back home.”

The boy was being checked out at a local hospital but police said he did not appear to be injured. “Cole Puffinburger has been found, he is safe and he is in our custody,” Captain Cannito said.

The men who entered the home on Wednesday demanded money from the boy’s mother and her fiancé, police said. When the couple said they didn’t have it, the men ransacked the house and vanished with the child.
