9. I wonder if he has written a textbook. Then we could buy that textbook
and learn that way.

The Conscience of a Liberal was a great book.

12. Last time I bought a text book, it cost $300.00 and that was 10yrs ago..
I kept all the important one's.. math doesn't change much, and the principles behind science don't change much.. though different studies are coninuous... I sooo miss being able to do research.. I soooo wish for a President who respects and will recognize paying for science is soooo important.

4. Fareed really does have a good program
I think the networks totally try to dumb down thought vs
trying to elevate it. His program elevates it.

Yes Nobel Prize winner.

3. He put up his formula that helped him win the Nobel prize
on a blackboard but they cut the segment without explaining what it was.

He was explaining economies of scale with plane manufacturing and auto manufacturing
before and how it tied into his theories.

I wished they give him a half hour with Fareed it would be enlightening to this nation.

5. It would only be enlightening to those who knew a good bit of difference/differential eqs...
variational methods, transform theory, and a few other things that aren't common knowledge.

6. I disagree ..... Dr. Krugman could put it in layman's terms
That's what a good teacher does.

7. Nope. Pop-econ, pop-physics, etc. are all complete wastes of time....
They only make people who don't know any math *feel* like they know something.

8. I watched Bill Nye on a channel this morning that I normally don't get
He had a new program called ' Stuff Happens,' on the Green Channel which
explains the consequences of what we use and do in regards to the environment.

We used Bill Nye in our 9th grade science classes. It was extremely effective
in our classes to explain Newtonian theories.

Einstein said: Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.

11. And people who don't know any math have no idea what the Einstein statement means.

10. Naw...they are a good start...
They're like a door to your house--very important to gain entry, but then you utilize bedrooms, kitchens, living rooms--the places you do your living in.

If it helps the otherwise incurious make arcane concepts accessible, more the better.
