Aglow Prays for the Nation as Congress Holds Unusual Session over Weekend
September 29, 2008

Aglow was front and center at one of two history-making gatherings in Washington DC on Saturday, Sept. 27. As the members of Congress were called to Capitol Hill and into weekend sessions over the economic crisis, 2,000 Aglow members were in session on the Upper Senate Park with an unprecedented prayer assignment: to bring the kingdom of God to earth to reign over the affairs of men from that day forward.

The need for prayer was so urgent that U.S. Senator Sam Brownback, (R-Kansas), made an unannounced visit to Aglow’s site to thank us for our prayers and encourage us to continue to pray for those issues that affect the United States.

Aglow prayed for 7 specific spheres of influence over the nation, beginning with the government. The other 6 were family, church, media, education, science/business/technology, and arts & entertainment.

1. The con-men always find an easy mark
Never work a day in their lives, but sell salvation to the gullible for 100% profit.

2. Is it any wonder that so many are "called"?
Imagine being a young person and wondering about how make it in the world; how about a job in which:
everyone honors you;
regular hours;
no hard physical exertion;
no sweat or dirt;
you will wear nice clothes all of the time;
everyone invites you everywhere socially;
many gifts;
people ask you what to do;
people give you money for making them feel good;
your home and car are paid for by others;
job security forever . . . .

Compared to what the rest of us poor jerks do to earn a living???

Is it any wonder so many find that they have a calling?
