the kerfluffler about Palin's $150k wardrobe
this story had pretty much been pushed aside by the Ashley Todd one. Yet, this weekend Palin brought it up again with her "quip" about wearing her own clothes as opposed to the RNC wardrobe.

The point of the $150k story is obviously lost on her. It was never specifically about the clothes - it was about how much the clothes cost and having a make-up person and hairdresser at her side.

1. it's hard times out there for 95% of Americans. Palin is being portrayed as "one of us", as a "josephine the plumber" just runnin' for VP, you betcha. Well, I seriously doubt Josephine the plumber's overalls cost $150k. Big Disconnect.

Edwards was bashed for a $400 haircut, and previously during the Clinton administration - Bill Clinton was similary bashed by the repubs for having haircut on Air Force One (I can't remember what that cost). But then repubs aren't known for spotting the irony.

2. one of the mccain-palin talking points is about pork barrel spending, wasteful spending, and frivolous spending. This is part of the republican platform, something the republican party is supporting.

What does it say about their committment to rein in spending when $150k is spend on clothes? I realize the $150k came from the Repub party and not the campaign. But if they are running on reining in spending, and bashing fruit fly research - what does that say about their priorities?

They could have spent alot less on dressing up Palin at a walmart or a jc penny type store.

as far as it being 'sexist' - call a whaaaaambulance. If Obama or Biden had an expensive haircut on the plane, or used DNC/campaign money to buy clothes at Brooks Brothers - the repubs would have been all over that with wailing cries of "elitist".

1. Actually Palin could have gotten her clothes for free.
I forget who said it, but when replying to the Palin wardrobe budget, someone mentioned that a new up-and-coming designers love to dress famous people for free, just for the recognition. (I'm paraphrasing of course)

But, maybe no one was willing to design for her! LOL!

Also, something important, no one has been able to prove where the money came from for the clothes. Like everything else coming from the GOP, this story has changed many times. They can't get the story straight about who they want to blame for their latest fiasco!

2. All the women should give up their hair stylists, their clothing
staff, their make up artists etc... That goes for Michelle Obama and Jill Biden too. Complete and total waste of money all the way around

5. Are you suggesting Michelle Obama and Jill Biden each spend $12.000
a week on styling? There is nothing wrong with being made up to look pretty or handsome or ??? but do you believe Sarah spent $12,000 a week on her bid to become Governor? It is the flagrant hypocrisy of it all. She brags about being "frugal"..

6. IF! Michelle Obama or Jill Biden are spending money for this, it is on their own dime.

3. It's obvious the campaign didn't find her chic enough for them
and it is also obvious that Palin didn't mind getting all those free (to her) clothes. The word NO is in her vocabulary and if she really disagreed with the campaign, all she had to do was use that little two letter word. But she didn't... because she didn't want to say no.

The McCain campaign made her clothing an issue when they decided she just wasn't good enough...she obviously agreed.

They got caught and that is the only reason she's singing a different tune now.

4. Palin is keeping a negative story about herself in the news!
McCain must be ready to throttle her by now.

7. Agree. She needs to be schooled about going off script. Ashley
Todd was burying the story and then Palin comes out and changes the narrative. Any press is good press??
