You can tell she doesn't even believe her own crap. She doesn't have it in her. She's practically crying, it seems, half the time. The crowd started chanting USA USA, and she half-smiled and said meekly "Yeah, USA." She stood there and just grinned a bit as the crowd chanted. It's a bizarre site. She's sounding like a beaten woman.

2. She probably thought she had a chance.
I'm guessing it didn't dawn on her that her campaign was a joke until early this week.

9. The New York Times poll might have opened her eyes
Increasingly, Poll Shows Palin Hurting McCain’s Chances

A growing number of voters have concluded that Senator John McCain’s running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska, is not qualified to be vice president, weighing down the Republican ticket in the last days of the campaign, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.

All told, 59 percent of voters surveyed said that Ms. Palin was not prepared for the job, up 9 percentage points since the beginning of the month. Nearly a third of voters polled said that the vice-presidential selection would be a major factor influencing their vote for president, and those voters broadly favored Senator Barack Obama.

In a possible indication that the choice of Ms. Palin has hurt Mr. McCain’s image, voters said that they had much more confidence in Mr. Obama to pick qualified people to serve in his administration than they did in Mr. McCain.

-snip

While a majority viewed Ms. Palin as unqualified for the vice presidency, about three quarters of voters saw Mr. Obama’s running mate, Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr. of Delaware, as qualified for the job. The increase in the number of voters who said that Ms. Palin was not prepared was driven almost entirely by Republicans and independents.

Overall, views of Ms. Palin were apparently shaped more by ideology and party than by gender. Ms. Palin was viewed as unprepared for the job by about 6 in 10 men and women alike. But 8 in 10 Democrats viewed her as unprepared, as well as more than 6 in 10 independents, and 3 in 10 Republicans.

4. She's Bush ten times bad
If you think the racism and homophobia are bad enough now in her campaign speeches, just wait until 2012 where she'll probably encourage a call to arms to start a race war to take back the White House.

11. I'll bet Ms. Congeniality has never been trounced like this...
Most politicians, heck most people, have at some point in their lives "lost" at something. My guess is that Ms. C is skilled in the art of reframing the losses in her life to blame others and that's what she's done forever. I'll bet the national spotlight is finally burning through that self created protective force field. She's reaching the point where even she can't believe her own BS. She's going to lose and she has absolutely no idea how to handle it.

On one hand it's sad. On the other hand, our job is not done on 11/4/08. The 2010 Alaska gubernatorial election needs our national attention to be sure that Ms. C doesn't have an elected platform from which to launch her 2012 campaign. Let's not forget that George Allen was the "front-runner" for 2008 until he was booted out at the state level by those who knew him the best. Running as the "former Gov of Alaska" will be the kiss of death.

23. All she really was skilled at was the game of small town politics
played by talentless nasty little shits who get into these positions where they hold all the cards and rule, not govern. Dissent against and differences of opinion with her were squashed pronto by her directives. You bitched about her - you lost your position, you were blackballed from getting other jobs, you were the target of smear campaigns, and all of her extended network of family, friends and favor takers were on the warpath against you. I've read tons of examples of this for months now.

She gave out plum positions as side jobs to "journalists" for some of the other AK newspapers, who in turn reported only favorable things. If her popularity polls were sliding in AK, you sure didn't read it in some of their newsrags, because Sarah would turn off the favor and cash spigot pronto if that happened. I think there is only one, ADN, that doesn't have a "Sarah Palin bought and paid for" style of journalism.

She was/is a small town, talentless thug. That she has no real power to do the same things as a national VP candidate that worked so well for her as a small potatoes godfather type must just be killing her. She has to watch the justified slams against he r stupidity without being able to either extract revenge or force them to stop on threats of jerking their livelihoods.

It was all fun and games until somebody poked her eye out on this. You betcha.

14. Ok, who gave Moosalina the newspaper? Or who let her near
the tv? You know the McCain campaign was trying to keep her from getting despressed by cutting off her access to the news, and now someone's gone and messed the plan all up.

Reality has to be an ugly thing if you're a lying, crazy, duplicitous sack of shit.

16. What McC's Top Repub Says
"A former Republican Secretary of State and one of John McCain's most prominent supporters offered a stunningly frank and remarkably bleak assessment of Sarah Palin's capacity to handle the presidency should such a scenario arise.

Lawrence Eagleburger, who served as Secretary of State under George H.W. Bush and whose endorsement is often trumpeted by McCain, said on Thursday that the Alaska governor is not only unprepared to take over the job on a moment's notice but, even after some time in office, would only amount to an "adequate" commander in chief."

She's has been touting the former secretaries of state who support McCain and now it turns out that one of them is openly repudiating her.

How's that endorsement working for ya, Sarah?

27. Well she crashed pretty hard
Not that I feel sorry for her one bit but in 7 weeks she went from being a virtually unknown governor to the newest 'shiny thing' that put McCain ahead in the polls for the first and only time this election cycle (for a few weeks after Palin was picked McCain had over a 50% chance of winning according to 538, which is a testament to how dumb we americans are that we are so easily distracted by stunts). Then she blew it by letting everyone know what a radical and moron she is and polls show she is the main reason people won't vote for McCain now. Now she is a laughingstock, the GOP is thinking of blaming her for the 2008 loss and her radicalism and tarnished reputation could cost her reelection in Alaska in 2010.

I'd be depressed too.
