IT'S TIME FOR A LITTLE PALIN COMPARISON

OK, so you know the hot mask this Halloween is Sarah Palin. What you don't know is, the Wasilla Wow is poised to make large money. Book offers for her view of what happened or didn't happen and how they blew it/ how they didn't blow it/ how she sees America/ Alaska/ McCain/ Barack/ baby Trig/ the price of jackets/ whatever. Agents are also poised to dangle $30,000 - give or take a few bucks - for a lecture. And said approximate fee is for "them." In other words, if she can't make it, they'll take the First Dude. ....

She has a photographic memory. Her head is down in the position papers, she blinks twice, never looks up, turns the page, reads some more. Reads, reads, reads. The kids adore her. She's happiest when they're along. Little Piper even has her own fan base and signs autographs. But, on the plane, if one hugs her, she puts her hands up to touch them, never takes eyes off the paper, just keeps reading.

The only time she relaxes is in the car with her family. The shoulders then slump a little, she doesn't seem happy, but, ever a good soldier, she turns it on for the crowds.

Yes, she's gone off the reservation, she feels "trapped," she hates swallowing her own freewheeling thoughts. Her speeches are read and approved by 17 people. She is surrounded by minders whose lot is to control her. She doesn't speak freely. She hunkers down with the only three who make her feel comfortable - Kris Perry, who ran her gubernatorial run, Penny Owen, her Alaska friend from high school who helps with the children, and the Husband.

3. it would not surprise me in the least if she ends up in a Playboy centerfold
i kid you not.

If she screws up her career in politics (which she may be doing)....I have this feeling she will consider all options.

1. While she has some money packed away...she is not that financially comfortable and having been exposed to the real money in the GOP she wants more.
2. If she ends up being the scapegoat of the party...where will she go? Back to Wasilla? I think not.
3. Playboy is losing money...but boy...if they offered her a cool $5million or more to pose nude...I am telling you...she would be bareassed on a bear rug in a moment.

now this all happens if she can't make it politically...and if she becomes the big "dumb" scapegoat....because the GOP isn't too forgiving

4. I'm trying not to think about her taking option number 3 too much
Because it's producing a headache behind my eyes and would probably burn out some brain cells if I thought about that too much.

Especially if her political career is irreparable.

9. Well, it is the NY Post. They may be trying to make her sound smarter.
I can believe that she's trying to study, but still think she's just out of her depth.

15. Why couldn't she stay in one college to get her degree?
Someone with a photographic memory probably could have gotten a full-ride scholarship to any of the schools she attended.

8. OT, but I couldn't help noticing the Kelsey Grammar bit further down.
"I once dreamt I was on an Amazon safari with 18 people who disappeared one by one until only I was left. In a town with a central fountain, the locals who'd killed them off suddenly surrounded me. And then all those who'd disappeared re-emerged, circled me and said, 'Kelsey, you must do what you've always done - heal the children.' "

12. Even further down is this bit of stupidity:
"Prince is phobic about dirt. Whether that means he likes it or hates it, I don't know ."

Hint, Cindy...the operating word there is phobia.

arrghhh..

17. May be against Alaska law for her to profit

A provision of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act restricts outside employment. It says: "The head of a principal executive department of the state may not accept employment for compensation outside the agency that the executive head serves."

Senior Assistant Attorney General David Jones said the section likely applies to the governor but it's not clear what constitutes "employment."

"Clearly, the intent of the statute is to make it clear these are full-time jobs. If you are a commissioner, for example, you can't be working in the private sector. But does that mean you can't go out and give a speech now and then for an honorarium? I don't know. I don't know that we have interpreted it for that purpose in the past," Jones said.

I say giving a lecture for money would be a violation of this. Of course, she can always resign and go out and make her filthy money.
