Man Arrested After 2 Ate From 1 Plate At Georgia Buffet
ATLANTA -- Being a cheapskate could get you in trouble with the law.

Fulton County authorities arrested 40-year-old Dan Linscomb of Texas City, Texas, last week for refusing to pay his tab at the all-you-can-eat Iron Skillet buffet in northwest Atlanta. Officials say Linscomb ate at the buffet and let his girlfriend eat from his plate.

The restaurant charged him for two $7 meals, which he refused to pay. Linscomb was taken to the Fulton County Jail on a charge of theft of service. Fulton County Sheriff's Sgt. Nikita Hightower said Linscomb was released two days later after pleading guilty to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct.

Linscomb could not be reached for comment. Restaurant officials declined comment.

Uggh... the guy was wrong, but couldn't they have simply banned the guy and moved on? He was in jail for two days. He most likely could not afford to eat. I personally will never eat at that restaurant after reading this.

1. I guess it depends on if the sign said "All You Can Eat"
or "All Y'all Can Eat."

2. Well, it's theft, but it's only $7 theft
On the other hand, the restaurant couldn't possibly afford to feed people all they can eat for $3.50 a person.

3. As bad as this story may have gone, the fact is the restaurant was in the right.
Putting the guy in jail for two days sounds excessive (how about "personal recognizance", Your Honor?).

We also don't know if his girlfriend "ate from his plate" and took a french fry.

But overall, I can't blame the restaurant.

5. The dude wasn't some Dickinsonian urchin, hungry and desperate.
He was a dick who refused to pay for an extra plate when he and his girlfriend were caught breaking pretty much the only rule in an all-you-can-eat-buffet.

  Stealing is wrong, mmmmkay?

If he couldn't afford to pay for the both of them then he should have went to the grocery store and bought food. $7 can easily feed two people.

11. If it was an Old Country Buffet, I would say that the effect the food would
later have on each of their digestion systems would have been punishment enough!
