Bush: one of the most successful Presidents ever.
People who say Bush (using as shorthand for Bush administration) has been a failure as a President make at least two fatal flaws; 1)that Bush gives a crap what you think and, more to the point, 2)that the goals of what's best for the country and Bush's goals match. They don't.

Think about it, how much of what Bush has wanted has he not gotten? A few things, the privatization of Social Security, the nomination of Harriet Myers, some others, have been denied him. But for the most part, he's achieved his true goals beyond his wildest dreams. How many of his cronies have ever really paid for anything? They all walk around free with six and seven figure jobs in spite of being at the helm of the worst disasters in modern history. Some hit to their reputation has been taken, but they look to Kissenger as a touchstone for reformation of reputation. He's a war criminal, but even Obama cites him as some kind of statesmen. That's what time and PR does, and they know it.

And he's still going after it. Read these stories and you can see he will stuff his coats with silverware right until the last day:

Not to mention coordinating with Israel to go to war with Iran, a last 'gift' to the new President. You can keep calling him a failure, but he'll be laughing all the way to Paraguay.

1. Success depends on your point of view, doesn't it?
He certainly has been successful for his cronies...

And unsuccessful for the vast majority of us...

2. "Not to mention coordinating with Israel to go to war with Iran,"
When did that happen?

6. This is my take on what happening behind the scenes.
It's my belief they are still trying to push this.

3. And he had a little help along the way.
IIRC, something was taken off the table, which left room for more loot.

:freak:

4. You are so right because the joke has been on us for the last 8 years. He
has almost completed his goal of getting everything for himself and his cronies. To top it all off he gets all the benefits of any other president when he leaves office.

5. Obama should announce that he is going to use "signing statements"
to reverse EVERYTHING that Dumbya is now implementing, because Bush's actions are clearly intended to harm the environment for short term financial gain.

7. You're wrong on just one count...

He GOT the privatization of Social Security. It just came in the form of a "Wall Street Bailout" instead. Same thing. Same end goal; drain the treasury and give the money to Wall Street.

8. But will history record it that way?
Usually history breaks on the side of the people and in that regard he has been an utter failure...I realize he doesn't care and his wealthy cronies don't either and they will have absconded with pretty much all of the US Treasury. They have been successful at accomplishing the greatest heist ever and yet history won't be kind..

9. And did Prescott Bush give a damn about history?
He aided the Nazi machine before, DURING, and AFTER the war. His aid indirectly helped to kill American GIs, maybe one of your relatives, and clearly a treasonous act. Yet, nothing happened. That was the lesson learned. And nothing will happen this time either.

11. So true, no one has ever been more successful at destroying America and ...
... the Constitution than any other terrorist, ever.

This gang of thieves will go down in history as being just as efficiently fascist as Mussolini and his trains, if not more so.

I can't wait for them to be gone.

12. I'm sure Osama Bin Laden would agree.
Bush has been far more successful in running the USA into the ground than OBL ever could have dreamed of.
