1. Yep. If Obama voting for the bailout is an indication that he will turn
the country socialist, why did the only Socialist is congress vote AGAINST it?

2. "Socialist"
A stupid soundbite word that can't withstand more than 10 seconds of critical thinking.

in response to Michael Moore's email this morning.

It may be factually correct to say that Obama is the "most liberal Senator". But that is like saying somebody is the world's tallest midget.

The fact is that the policies Obama has articulated throughout this campaign are quite mainstream -- hardly liberal. We are winning this election because issue after issue, 70% of the public agrees with us.

I've got no problem wearing the liberal label. I'm damn proud of it. But I find it really disappointing for Michael to suggest that this may be the last time we will have an opportunity to vote for "a liberal". That is complete nonsense.

We are winning this election:

a) Because there was a candidate who realized that America is not some society out of the Dark Ages. Americans want progress. Social progress, progress in international relations, economic progress, progress on the environment, and on and on.

b) We fought for it. Howard Dean stood up to the fascists INSIDE our party and outside. Moveon and others stood up. One by one, then by the thousands, and now by the millions, America stood up.

This is the beginning, not the end. We will have to keep working. As Michael points out, most of the Senate is not yet with us. And there are millions of Americans who cannot think any more coherently than Joe the Plumber or Sarah Palin. It will not be easy. But we can change America.

Enjoy the next 24 hours. And then everybody back to work on Wednesday. There is so much we have to do. Power never concedes without a fight, and this election by itself does nothing to release the firm grip of Exxon, Halliburton, and Carlysle. We must fix the election process. We must force the lobbyists out of our government. And soon we will have to take on Harry & Louise once again.

It is the fight of our lives.
