He knew he didn't kill the girl and stonewalled Connie, refusing to play her game. She wanted tears and remorse. He came off as cold and unlikeable. He lost the PR game. Connie has pretty much disappeared from the scene.

Condit and his wife filed numerous lawsuits. The National Enquirer settled one, as did Dominick Dunne. Condit's kids are still in trouble, being prosecuted for misuse of PAC funds and face fines up to $2M if found guilty.
