...restroom.

I have been wondering: What IS the right restroom for a gay/trans person to use?

Not to be offensive, I simply have no clue.

1. In a female bathroom, everything is done behind closed doors.
That one is easy. What's not so easy is using the men's room without a penis, though there are stalls in those, too. I guess there really isn't a problem.

5. I live in Georgia
I'm surprised they haven't outlawed the practice here. Refreshing bit of corporate tolerance, though. Bet Walmart won't be offering the same service...

6. safe2pee.org
For Trans people they can look up safe places at Safe2Pee.org
When that is not available get in and out as quickly as possible.

Except around Haloween, wearing a dress and/or sporting silicone breastforms in the mens room is not the safest thing.
Yet except for teenage transitioners, most can't pass close scrutiny.

Final note; Mens rooms don't have Panic Alarms nor people sneaking in to sniff the seats. You are not the only one who needs to cosider safety when finding a place to go.

8. A little off topic
But I have a lesbian friend who looks like a guy. People flip out when she goes into the woman restroom. What else can she do? I tease her a lot about it though.

In a lot of gay bars they have women's and men's restroom but both sexes use both restrooms.

One day a buddy of mine when to the ladies room to use the bathroom. This straight chick approached him and said,"Excuse me for being in the right bathroom."..my friend said,"Excuse me for being in a gay bar!" lol

Why are the stalls here so open, btw?
When I went to England, they had some stalls that were completely closed off on all sides. Total privacy. No Larry Craig problems.

10. Gay or TG?
What are you asking? Although some TG folks are gay, it's far from the same thing. One is sexual orientation and one is gender ID. I DO find this "lumping" at the best ignorant.

12. I don't understand why anyone would be upset if a tran male....
in drag used a women's facility. There are doors on all the stalls and it affords much more privacy than a men's bathroom.

13. I don't think it would be safe for a transgender or transvestite to use the men's room
besides which, most men's rooms do not have even a modicum of privacy. in many public men's rooms (like stadiums) you just have a huge trough to piss in, or in some bars, there are no doors on the stalls.
Even though it might freak some women out, I don't think it would be as risky to freak out some women as it would be to freak out some homophobic men.

Unfortunately fact of life that in some situations, some neanderthal men will not react well to transgenders or transvestites in the men's room.
