Kerry and Gore bring Hope to Climate Talks
"A positive message that we will bring back from Poznan is also the confirmation of the clear commitment by the incoming US administration actively to contribute to the fight against climate change, both through domestic measures and at the international level," said Guido Sacconi (PES, IT), Chair of the Temporary Committee on Climate Change and Co-Chair of the EP delegation. "The words of optimism we heard from both Senator John Kerry and Al Gore do give us great hope that next year in Copenhagen the EU will not be alone in leading towards an ambitious international agreement," he added.

Almost NOTHING in the US media about Poznan. Unfrigginbelieveable.

At least we were well represented by Sen. Kerry and VP Gore.

1. The only place I've heard about this is on NPR.

2. There's been some coverage by the foreign press
The BBC has an interview with Sen. Kerry from Poland, but nothing from the US mainstream media.
I guess if it's not scandalous, they can't be bothered.

Here's a bit of the interview.

5. "If it's not scandalous, they can't be bothered," is...
...exactly right. It's all about ratings for them...not providing actual news. I also think they are selling the American people short when they decide programming based on what gets 'ratings' up. The same thing happened with the movie industry. It got us to the point that many people stopped going out to new movies because they were mostly aimed at a 'sixth grade level' audience. (I know there are exceptions.) Everything was about special effects and body-function humor...which many people aren't interested in seeing.

Now TV and news is going down that same road. Don't they realize that there is an American public out here HUNGRY for information, intelligent enough to understand it, and deserving of being informed? That 'informed citizenry' thing is kind of important to democracy. :7

6. Let's face it if the world falls to pieces the MSM would not tell us.
I was reading an article by Kuntsler called "Does O Know?" and one of the things he said was that so few people really know what is going on with oil/gas peak and climate change. He said that it is because we the people do not want to know. What I think is that the MSM does not want to be the bearers of bad news so they ignore it themselves. We are going to have to learn on our own and the change is going to have to come from ground up. That is the only way we are going to get any of this out.
