Barack Obama might have little option but to follow George W. Bush’s approach on a range of foreign policy issues, including Iran, said Condoleezza Rice, secretary of state.

Ms Rice told the Financial Times the new administration was likely to follow Mr Bush’s lead in the dispute over Iran’s nuclear programme. During the president’s second term, the US has co-ordinated its approach with the European Union, Russia and China.

“When I talk to our allies they believe that that is the structure with which this is ultimately going to be resolved,” Ms Rice said, while acknowledging that the Obama administration would generally “do things in their own way”.

7. My favorite Condi story is about an interview she did shortly after becoming SOS
It was an hour long piece. Sorry I forget who interviewed her. She was obviously in over her head as SOS and that came through clearly during the interview. Then with 10 minutes left, the interviewer asked Condi to sit down at the piano and play. She is a classical pianist and they used the last part of the hour to air her playing the piano.

Still blows my mind. She was just named SOS, we were deep into the invasion of Iraq, and the most relevant way they could end the interview was by asking her to give a concert to the American people. I remember thinking that anyone who didn't understand what a clueless twit she was sure knew after hearing her play the piano at the end of that interview. LOL

4. Your headline is misleading
This says Obama may continue the path on limiting nuclear proliferation in Iran in cooperation with European allies.

It also says that Obama will generally do things his own way on foreign policy, which DIRECTLY CONTRADICTS your headline.

Just trying to stir the pot?

10. First of all, as mentioned above, the headline is misleading
Second, I don't give a shit what this woman thinks. The fact that people here are taking her opinion at face value, for what is likely the first time in the history of DU, is depressing.

11. Oh, that settles it then
Obama has no choice but to follow Bushes lead in geopolitical affairs.

I guess that was the same thing with FDR and Hoover cause we can all see how faithfully FDR followed the isolationist policies of the Republican party. (Actually, they really weren't GOPukes back then, but people who had a legitimate, coherent (if dubious) party line. The GOPukes are ours entire)

Oh, and the sooner we see less of this woman the better.
