Alaska trooper says politics slowed drug arrest (Levi Johnston's mom)
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — A drug investigator says authorities delayed the arrest of a woman tied to Gov. Sarah Palin's family until after the November election, in which Palin was the Republican vice presidential candidate, a newspaper reported.

Sherry Johnston — whose son Levi Johnston is engaged to Palin's daughter, Bristol — was arrested Dec. 18 on six felony drug counts. She is accused of selling Oxycontin, a strong prescription painkiller, and pleaded not guilty Monday.

Investigator Kyle Young sent an e-mail to the Public Safety Employees Association saying the search warrant of Johnston's house was delayed for political reasons, the Anchorage Daily News reported.

"It was not allowed to progress in a normal fashion, the search warrant WAS delayed because of the pending election and the Mat Su Drug Unit and the case officer were not the ones calling the shots," Young wrote in the Dec. 30 e-mail.

Anyone the least bit surprised by this? I'm not.

5. Yeah, you'd think you'd just run out anger. Personally, I'm glad I still care.
Anger may not be so good for you though. I'm very angry; I need to exercise to control my anger. You can probably care without anger.

It feels real good to fight them, though. Making phone calls to Congress on the issues, meeting with MoveOn or other issue group trying to get organized and to do somekind of useful work for Justice or the Environment or whatever. I have about 10-15 friends whom I stand with every Sunday on a certain street corner; we hold original signs about Bush War Criminals and other facts about what we've done in Iraq. Every honk, and there are many, every smile or nod, every time someone waves at us, it feels real good.

I also listen to Air America Radio. I listen to Thom Hartmann get real angry for me. I listen to the callers and I don't feel so alone.

6. The McCain camp took over the state and I'll bet had something to do with this.

8. I would agree with this...
...you know the old saying...if it walks like a Repiggie, etc.

I wonder whose plams they had to grease to get this delayed.

7. In other news...
Rush Limbaugh seen mumbling incoherently, twitching, shaking, and sweating profusely at a pay phone, while flipping through his address book and calling people on his cell phone.
