Burning car rams synagogue door in France
PARIS: A burning car was rammed into a synagogue door in southwest France as the interior minister convened Muslims, Jews and police in Paris to warn against contagion from the Gaza conflict.

Damage to the synagogue in a Toulouse neighborhood was limited to a blackened door, and there were no injuries even though a rabbi was giving a course to adults inside, said an official of the regional prefecture, Anne-Gaelle Baudouin.

Police called to the scene found remnants of a Molotov cocktail in the car and a car nearby with three unlighted Molotov cocktails, Baudouin said.

2. Well, not the Vichy French.
But you seem to be saying that Hamas should be allowed to ram synogogues, and lob missiles into Israel with impunity. Are you saying that?

3. Oh, yeah that's what I'm saying
But considering Israel seems to love the eye for an eye game, I'd say yeah, it's Hamas's turn.

9. See, I knew that's what you were saying.
So many of you want the Israelis to be happy targets for the Arabs. Because you think it's "fair." And you never think ill of yourselves for it. Never.

18. I don't love the eye for an eye game for ANYONE...
as Gandhi said, it leaves the whole world blind.

But even if I did, why support revenge on FRANCE? What did French Jews do to Gaza?

And it's unlikely that the perpetrators have any links to Hamas anyway.

20. I'm just trying to match the Israel apologizers/enablers' sheer ridiculousness
Of course I don't support revenge against anyone except maybe the monsters in power that are keeping the blood spilling. Doesn't mean I don't understand where the hatred is coming from.

4. Wouldn't the French just surrender immediately?
Edited on Tue Jan-06-09 05:39 AM by MrSlayer
And placate the Israelis?

They should invade Finland, that would be a challenge.

15. You're right (I need a night's sleep one day) but look what I found:
<http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/finance/2008/0912/1221138433311.html>

Finland fell first! In the 1990's! Who knew?

A culture of debt, where previously none had existed, contributed to a steep rise in Finnish property prices.

-snip

Yet, in 1991, Finland was hit by a crisis that shook the foundations of its banking system and forced a state takeover of the leading savings bank. By far the most severe of a wave of Nordic banking crises, the Bank of Finland's rescue plan cost the taxpayer some 8 per cent of GDP and left a legacy of thousands of bankruptcies.

Finnish experts say that there was no classic recipe for their banking crisis. It boiled down to a mixture of bad luck, bad policies and bad banking.

Today's Ireland is very different from the Finland of 1991, yet warning bells begin to sound when veterans of the Finnish crisis recount their experiences - like their description of the Finnish credit bubble of the late 1980s, inflated by a new era of easy money where, as one analyst puts it, "euphoria supplanted risk analysis".

5. clearly hate acts don't phase you at all
as long as they're directed toward certain groups. This is an act of anti-semitism and like any hate act should simply be condemned. YOU use it as an excuse to bring up how horrible Israel is. That's fairly pathetic.

16. So hate acts do not phase you at all.
As long as they are directed at Jews. It's good to have everything perfectly clear.
