Does anyone know how to fix an e-mail problem I have
Somehow my e-mail address has been hijacked and I get tons of spam with my e-mail address as the sender. Is there anyway to put a stop to this?

3. And me, too
I contacted my provider and they suggested I just hang in there, nothing can be done. I was concerned about having to lose my email addy or perhaps them getting complaints about me. They told me not to worry. So now I check my email online at their site to delete any 'failure' mail messages and delete them. Then download mail that I want.

Pfui.

2. I had that problem too
I had myself on the filter as well. My server was also being paid to screen the email coming in.

HOWEVER, something got through and it had a very nasty virus attached to it. :(

I ended up losing that laptop to this problem in the end. I fired that server and hired another one.

Now I have a new/fresh email address and have had no spam since I did this.

I recommend either getting a new email address and possibly a new server as well if you can handle it.

5. Sit it out
It seems that someone, who has your email in their address book, has been infected with a mass-mailing worm. This could be a re-emergence of the Sobig worms that proliferated a few years back.

Essentially, the infected person has downloaded a nasty that goes through their computer grabbing email addresses it finds and sends out fake emails from those addresses.

These worms often use chunks of text copied from the infected machine as the body of the message. There is a slim chance that you may be able to identify the infected computer if you read them.

Just make sure your anti virus is up to date and don't open any attachments without virus scanning for a while - even from people you know. It should pass when the infected person realises what is going on.
