Tom Delay said on Hardball last night that the testifying before Congress issue is going to take two years to play out. Clearly a Carl Rove calculation, something known since before they lost the election. Bushes' speech was prepared ahead of time to talk about Show Trials and Politics. These are the issues the Republicans will want to run on.

I hope the Democrats have a strategy to deal with this -- This White House is terrible in running a war but very good at playing politics.

5 hours later Bush was on tv saying exactly those words....

3. Delay's tring to get back in good graces

with Bush. Loyalty is what he values and his book came out and he's been the outside guy beating the Bushie drum lately. He's in the loop a little on this one and Delay's trying to get back in the family.

The more I think of it the I can see how important Delay has been to Bush in the past he's trying to earn his way back in and he's generating ideas here.
