6. I don't know.
I'm nowhere near ready to.

I even have a Plan B laid in. I'm about the biggest know-nothing when it comes to electronic equipment. My husband is a complete wonk - has the whole set-up in the bedroom - all this shit and I don't know how to work most of it. Buttons and gadgets and crap. So I told him I wanted to be up watching maybe even all night if I felt like it, 'cause this is so damned special and I want to drink every last drop of it in. So he set it up for me in the other room. If he wants to shut down in the bedroom and turn everything off and go to sleep, I can go to the other TV and watch to my heart's content. All night if I damn well please! I'm actually rather delighted about that! :P

Election night I settled on MSNBC and that turned out to be a good choice. :)

22. Well, I happen to like their slant, and "reaching out" and being nonpartisan notwithstanding,
I wanna be with MY peeps, the ones with the same attitude I have toward this murderous regime-on-the-way-OUT - so it'll be MSNBC for me. They'll be more likely to be aware of little details and subtleties that I noticed were not so much in evidence on CNN. For example, I noticed that the crowd clustered around in back of the outdoor MSNBC anchor set was much larger than that in back of the CNN set. Also I did not see anyone in the crowd holding a sign like "Arrest bush" in the CNN coverage, while MSNBC showed a guy holding two, and other crowd gestures like it. Made me wonder if the CNN crowd had been hand-sifted to weed out any - um - unauthorized anti-bush stuff, or if the crowd had been told to tone (or put) things down. Anything that has Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow putting their two cents into it gets my vote and my viewership! My husband set a recording for 7am through noon our time (pacific time, that is).

Howdy from West L.A.!

I am SO stoked!

My kid's THERE. He's a presidential scholar and got invited to this student forum for THIS event. Actually it was for The Inauguration - of whoever won in November. I took a risk, hoping that Obama would win but I was kinda worried for awhile because I didn't want to jinx it.

25. Er - um - have you tried Hershey's Bliss?
I just had a few morsels myself. I think I'll eat anything I damn well please tonight!

AND, I'm gonna walk the dog up the sidewalk in my neighborhood and pass "that" house. The house where these neighbors live who obviously preferred bush and mcsame to my guy. I met them at the block party we have every September up at the end of the block. It was just after the conventions and everyone was talking politics. I made some comment about being so offended by Wednesday night at the RNC collective, with rudi giuliani and the Tundra Tart being so smug and nasty and mean-spirited, and just really sucky toward community organizers. And I had scarcely spoken when this elegant 70-ish couple started snickering and mocking. And when I challenged that reaction by saying I have friends who are community organizers and that they genuinely help people and they constitute the only safety net we have left in this country for people who are truly needy, they only snickered and guffawed more. To the point where they were even losing their balance and had to sort of lean in on each other to prop each other up. I thought that was rude and piss-ant and arrogant and heartless. How dare they!

So I walk my dog several times a day and we pass this couple's house every time I take the dog on the "longer" route - in case she has to poo. No, I don't let her poo on their yard. Well, yeah, I do if she needs to but I always clean it up. I don't want anybody thinking I'm an inconsiderate dog owner or that my dog "did that". But I DO look at their house as we walk by, and sometimes I wave, and smile, and flash a little salute at the forehead, and whisper - "20 days..." or "19 days..." or "12 days..." or "five days..." or "TWO days..." or "To-MORR-rowwww!" But this time it'll be "five HOURS..." or however many hours there are, 'cause it'll be 9am when Obama takes the oath of office.

Lots of time to eat more chocolate, too!

:hi:

30. Tundra Tart. I like that!
If that couple happened to be Catholic, they should be especially ashamed of their ignorance because the Catholic diocese was funding Obama's community organizing, and it is a major part of the Church's mission.

I'm on a board with lots of liberals, but one woman is definitely conservative. I was impressed with her recently, however, because she was talking about what an historical event this inauguration will be, and she plans to watch it. My son also says that her son (who is a school leader) is telling other kids that even though he was for the other guy, it's good they'll be watching this at school because they should all respect the office of the President no matter who they supported in November.

Obama's reaching out is really paying off, IMHO.

P.S.

We really should be eating PIE, you know. Too bad I don't have any little boxes of pie lying around. Guess the chocolate will have to do! (My Mom swears by Bliss, but I haven't let myself try it yet. Why discover one more caloric thing to crave?

37. javalinas most likely...
nasty pig like animals (but not a member of the pig family). I live between the mountains and the river, so the javalinas travel across my land nightly to get a drink of water. Can't have outside pets of any kind. The coyotes trail them and, if they find a weaker one, occasionally bring one down.

If you are unlucky to be caught outside when the javalinas come through, you can get seriously injured very easily.
