UAL Corp 4Q Loss Widens, To Cut 1,000 More Jobs By Yr-End

United Airlines parent company UAL Corp.'s (UAUA) fourth-quarter loss widened on more fuel-hedging losses and falling revenue as the company said Wednesday that it would cut another 1,000 salaried and management jobs by the end of the year.

The job cuts are in addition to the 1,500 it had already announced, and when completed will bring the total reduction in salaried and management jobs to 30% since the beginning of 2008.
