Castro says he doubts he'll be lucid in 4 years
So that's 4 more years until he'll be at the functioning level to have a conversation with Bush.

8. The catharsis is justified.
Bush's domestic policies have done a lot of harm to Americans; then add in gaffes with foreign policies...

2. Considering I'm 100% against ALL Dictators....I don't care
The people of Cuba have lived in a one-party state since 1959, they are continuously denied the HUMAN RIGHT of having free elections.

Castro is just a Tin-Pot Dictator, no different than Duvalier in Haiti, no different than Pinochet in Chile, no different than Kim Jong-Il in North Korea.

I believe to help the PEOPLE of Cuba, the stupid Embargo should be lifted....I would hope that when the Castro crowd cease to exist, the people of Cuba will once again live in a free country, a multi-party state and be allowed to vote in FREE elections.

Dictatorship is WRONG....period.

3. Not that I'm a fan of Castro, but when did the people of Cuba live in a "free country"?
I don't recall that Bastista was such a friend of democracy.

At least with Castro they got education and health care.

6. Agreed on Batista, he was a pig as well
Castro, like many Dictators felt he needed to throw the people a few nuggets to keep them a bit happy, so he threw them education and health care.

7. ALL Dictators are the same, as I said I'm opposed to ALL Dictatorships
And yes, Castro and Pinochet no different....Stalin and Hitler, no different....Mugabe and Mao, no different.

All Dictators, all bad.

9. Cuba will NEVER have a free democracy
That is not in US foreign interests. It will have a government more friendly to the US when communism goes away, but it won't be a democracy; likely it will be a CIA-sponsored right wing dictatorship.

10. One can hope that post-Castro crowd, they won't have another Dictatorship
Left-Wing and Right-Wing Dictatorships suck ass, they are both sides of the same coin.

Other Latin American countries have developed into democracies, so one can hope that Cuba will see the light as well.

14. Meaning: Castro is beginning to have feelings for open diplomacy with the new U.S.
Mention the words:
"respect without constant recrimination"
and who knows,
what good may result.
