Obama Presidency - A New American Renaissance In The Arts and Sciences?
One thing that really depressed me during the Bush era was the apparent contempt for science and art. Science was suppressed. Art was portrayed as elitist. However, with Obama himself, as appointees who actually have technical skills, as opposed to being politicians (like Chu), could this be the start of a mini-Renaissance where education, science and art are actually appreciate and celebrated, rather than being derided as being elitist?

1. I really hope so
It is nice that the anti-science people are no longer making the rules.

2. While there is little money left after the B*sh debaucle and much of it
will be required elsewhere... at least there is an atmosphere that encourages growth in these areas...

3. At least linen manufacturers did well while Rumsfeld was around.
So many nekkid statues, so few Victorians willing to dress them.

4. I think you're thinking of Ashcroft. The old AG.
He had the problem with boobies. Rumsfeld was too busy making terrible, faily plans to care about nudity.
