14,000 Americans Lose Health Insurance Every Day»
The final stimulus package, which the President is scheduled to sign later this afternoon, includes a fair number of health provisions. Yet it’s not a total victory for progressive health advocates. In the run-up to the passage last week of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, negotiators compromised on some key health components:

.......

Despite concessions, only three Republicans voted for the stimulus bill. The rest stonewalled action to help the economy recover, even as millions of Americans were losing their jobs and health insurance. In fact, according to a forthcoming analysis by James Kvaal and Ben Furnas, as the unemployment rate grew by 0.8 points in December and January, nearly 100,000 people a week or 14,000 people a day lost their health coverage:

2. I lost my insurance in 2006.
In 2006 my partner was laid off from his sucky job, because the president of Baylor College of Medicine was busy destroying the school and running up a huge deficit (he's a drug company ho).

So now, every time I have a medical problem I need investigated, it is gonna cost a couple of thousand dollars to get it checked out, let alone treated.

The joys of no job, no pension, no savings.....for this I went to LAW SCHOOL??? :wtf:
For this he went to grad school and got a Master's degree in Math and Physics??? :wtf:

I take the official unemployment rate and multiply by 2.5. I figure it's up around 18 or 20%. I would count as discouraged and I stopped looking quite a few years ago.

3. The media needs to update themselves as it is over 49 Million
