Question: Why give GM a dime if they're still going to lay off 48,000 workers? I could see if
it would enable these folks to keep their jobs. But why bail out the company if most of the workers are already gone?

1. And especially don't give a dime to companies who ship jobs overseas.
Like banks who send their CS offshore.

3. If GM keeps manufacturing overseas, those countries should help
...bail them out.

5. I think we almost have to let it go down...
it's a damn shame, but i don't know if we can save them. Other banks/companies will be bankrupt soon too, and we can't afford to bail them all out...

2nd Great Depression, here we come :(

8. that kind of talk will lead to a great depression
the perception that things can only get worse will cause them to only get worse.

Wallstreet and all of the global markets for that matter run on perceptions.

6. I don't understand why they should bail them out either on these conditions for sure....
I still think that something has to change (Management wise) in order for these funds to even be considered.

7. I read earlier
that GM was demanding concessions from the union. Is the union demanding concessions about executive pay? It should be a two way street.
