6. Babs had heart surgery yesterday. I was just wondering if
the dim one was in evidence. That is/could be a big deal for most families when the matriarch gets ill.

19. Parents never berate their kids. they both show callousness toward the poor.
Remember her saying she didn't want to waste her "beautiful mind" over flag draped caskets. She didn't care that her son was sending kids to die in an unnecessary war.

18. Oh please. I can't even imagine
my dad going through something like this and not being 'notified'. If true, that speaks volumes about the family dynamic.

12. i'm glad that barbara bush is ok and all, but....
when i hear about one of these people going and getting an operation and they'll be in the hospital for a week to ten days yada yada... all i can think is how it must be nice to be rich and have insurance. now, i have insurance. but i wonder what kind of care one of us would get vs them. a week in the hospital vs... probably a couple of days? maybe i am wrong, but i feel there is such a disparity.

21. No - but he did call on the phone
.
.
.

and didja know - they put part of a PIG's heart in there

"I've been a nervous wreck about it," the former president said, choking back tears a day after his wife spent 2 1/2 hours getting a replacement valve from a pig at Houston's Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center."

(That's from Bush 1 - her hubby)

/snip/

The former president said he was reassured before the operation but never considered it routine "when you come in and put a pig's valve in your wife. It's scary. I didn't know anything about it."

/snip/

Bush said their oldest son, former president George W. Bush, had called Wednesday,
and that President Barack Obama and ex-presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton also called.

MORE

There's gotta be some smart remark about having a pig part in there

anyone? . . :dunce:
