Parents Say School Counselor Taught Kids Dirty Words

ASHLEY, Ohio — Parents in Delaware County are upset over an elementary school lesson on bullying that they say exposed their children to explicit language.

The controversial class occurred when a guidance counselor spoke to fifth graders at Buckeye Valley East Elementary School on Monday, 10TV's Kurt Ludlow reported.

Parents said the guidance counselor asked the fifth graders to share words that had hurt their feelings. According to parents, the counselor wrote the words down to display to the students.

"It suddenly turned X-rated," parent Joe Veneman told 10TV News. "Some of the words that were brought up were inappropriate probably in a pornographic movie."

His son Grant Veneman talked about the incident.

"At first they were just words, like 'jerk' and 'baby' and stuff, and then there were real bad words," Grant told 10TV News.

Schwartz: "Ah! What'd I do, Mom? Why? I didn't do nothing! Ah! Ah!"

was pouring out of me as I screamed."
