If wage was defined by hard work and a desire to learn,
most of us would be making 6 figure salaries, sports people would have to do more than run around a field to make even a pittance, and things like Britney and Jessica and Amy would be in rather different careers. Not to mention that crooks wouldn't be treated as well deserving celebrities to be emulated either.

8. How about if we applied that to doctors - and got rid of requiring competence?
Edited on Wed Mar-18-09 07:44 PM by stray cat
I would not go to a brain surgeon who worked hard and liked learning but wasn't competent.

11. What's wrong with "sports people"?
There's a lot of money being taken in by the owners of pro sports teams. I guess the owners should just be able to keep it all instead of having to share some of it with those greedy jocks. Never mind the fact that their entire career can be over in one play.

14. It's typical of a certain sort of person...
To whine about athletes making millions, while never having a problem with the owners who make billions.

I'm still not sure precisely what the difference is, between the athletes and the owners that results in this curious difference....
