5. The Brazilian wax thread got more responses in five minutes than this did in 24 hours.
The war didn't end in January.

9. And if we don't keep the heat on
and presume just because we won the fall elections that everything will be hunky-dory, it won't. Recall that the IWR and all the funding resolutions that have occurred in the last 6, I SAID SIX! years were aided and abetted by folks that we thought would do the right thing. It won't be hunky-dory if we just do nothing and assume all will be well.

I fear if we don't keep the heat on to get our troops out of the middle east where they don't belong, the quagmires we are already in will simply be extended ad infinitum and the oil cowboys and local bullies that apparently have control over this nation's foreign policy will find or manufacture another lame excuse to further expand our involvement there. Pakistan? Iran? For them, the war profiteerers and neocon globalists, any excuse will do it seems. And it seems it will do for a majority of our citizens. It is so f*cking obvious that alleged terra threats and containment of elusive villains of our own manufacture is merely a ruse to continue to enable the world's second oldest profession to prosper, protection racket scams in the form of strategic interests and national security. If we don't do this, this will happen, if we fail to stop that, that will happen. On and on, and on and on.

We were never so cowed when there was for over 40 years real ICBMs trained on US targets, with the potential to do real harm by real WMD. Can't people remember? Can't people see how we are being scammed? Are baseball, hot dogs and apple pie that effective of distractions for our citizens to so grossly lose sight of the ball?

I am concerned. This seems so unreal to me at times.

We cannot rest, as said above, the wars did not end in January.

If we snooze, we lose.
