AIG Is Being Abused: "It is as bad if not worse than McCarthyism"
From http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/20/nyregion/20siege.html?hp

The A.I.G. executive who was nicknamed “Jackpot Jimmy” by a New York tabloid walked up the driveway toward his bay-windowed house in Fairfield, Conn., on Thursday afternoon. "How do I feel?” said the executive, James Haas, repeating the question he had just been asked. “I feel horrible. This has been a complete invasion of privacy."

....

One A.I.G. executive, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he feared the consequences of identifying himself, said many workers felt demonized and betrayed. “It is as bad if not worse than McCarthyism,” he said. Everyone has sacrificed the employees of A.I.G.’s financial products division, he said, “for their own political agenda.”

...

And there may be more protests. The Connecticut Working Families party, which has support from organized labor, is planning a bus tour of A.I.G. executives’ homes on Saturday, with a stop at the company’s Wilton office.

I'm sure that enough Chateau Lafite Rothschild can make the pain go away.

4. Now that Uncle Sam owns about 80% of AIG, his business is OUR business
Guess what you lose when you work for the government? Your privacy.

I work for the government, and any Tom, Dick or Harry can go on the internet and find out how much I make.

Your company is now owned by the government. What you get paid is now my business, and that of every other taxpayer in this country, too.

Don't like it? Then give the government money back.

Dumbass.

5. McCarthyism?
Apparently, AIG doesn't require its overpaid executives to be conversant with history before paying them obscene amounts of money. Maybe they'd still be in business if they did.

7. It Seems Like a Self-Absorbed Response
However, 90% of AIG employees were probably doing exactly what they were supposed to be doing.

11. Does Anyone See The Irony Here???
Listening to Liddy...who worked for Donald Rumseld scream McCartyhism and then echoed by the right wing noise machine is just rich! These were the people who condoned the wiretapping of our phones and detaining and torturing American citizens without anything more than "suspicion". These shitsticks need to be ridiculed.

Then there's the banks who invaded our privacy constantly...selling our financial information to make even more money. They invaded our lives by taking money we gave them in good faith and squandered it like a drunken gambler. They invaded our security by willingly breaking laws and flaunting their ability to push around regulators in turning the economy into a smoking ruin.

Too damn bad for "Jackpot Jimmy"...but I'm sure he's got plenty of cash to buy a big fence or hire security.

:nopity:
