Does anyone care? Did anyone notice?
I looked on DU to see if there was any coverage, to see if there had been any threads.

"We're doing it because it's the sixth anniversary of the (Iraq) war," Schwartz said. "We wanted to call attention to the fact the war is not over, the occupation of Iraq has not ended, and the occupation of Afghanistan is escalating." http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/03/19/BAB816JL19.DTL

On Thursday, the sixth anniversary of the beginning of the war in Iraq, organizers held a vigil at the crosses, a few months after President Barack Obama was elected in part on a campaign promise to withdraw troops from Iraq. http://www.contracostatimes.com/top-stories/ci_11953496

Bay Area noted the anniversary, did anyone here on DU note it?

Just wondering, with all the attention paid to celebrities and economic dung-flinging, did anyone notice?

Must be the March Madness

2. Thank you for noticing...
The Jim Lehrer Newshour did make note of it last night.

K&R

What an enormous waste of our precious young people, and the nation's wealth.

5. How could I miss it?
An article glorifying the South Carolina National Guard as one of the first units to get to Iraq was front page news in our state paper.

I kinda thought it wasn't in the best of taste.
