2. Sorry tiger. One of the first things you learn on DU is that heavy people have absolutely NO power..
over anything that happens in or to their bodies.

They are the most powerless people ever to walk the earth, to hear them tell the story.

I did not know this either, until I learned it on DU.

But I'm a much better person now that I understand this. Now that I understand how abjectly powerless they are, I know not to expect anything from them - that would unfair in the extreme.

3. Try a neck surgery thanks to an emotive chiropractor, delayed due to idiots claiming "just anxiety"?
I am not ALLOWED to do various exercises. Or amusement park rides.

That's not to say there are things I can do, of course... but I'm at greater risk of fucking things up royally.

6. Oh, for goddess sake, why do some here have such an investment in blaming
individuals with weight issues? Try being poor and the mother of an infant and finding time and energy to exercise outdoors or lift weights. For one objection. Are some people ill-educated in nutrition? yes. Do some people underestimate what they eat? yes. The problem is not that some individuals may have success with conventional diet and exercise but that some people want to put everyone in that category. Why not actually listen to the people who's experience is otherwise? In the end, you know, we generally find that people living a situation know something about it. People used to think that deprssion and alcoholism were simply personal failures too - regardless of what those suffering from those afflictions reported as their own experience. And no, I do not have a weight issue and in fact am one of the lucky people who can eat vast quantities of unhealthy food and not gain weight. But I find the condescending, punitive, judgemental attitude of some here about weight issues as objectionable as the same traits when exhibited elsewhere.
