I was in Alabama the other day, and found a used newspaper with this story, or one just like it, on the front page:
http://www.al.com/news/press-register/metro.ssf?/base/news/1238231726286670.xml&coll=3Summary: Herman Thomas, who once was a circuit judge in Mobile County, Alabama, stands accused of signing at least nine young male inmates out of the county jail to coerce them into sexual activity. Part of the complaint alleges he built a faux office in a broom closet, and in there he asked the inmates if he could paddle their buttocks. Innocent until proven guilty and all that but if he IS proven guilty he's a scumbag who deserves the triple-life sentence he's going to get.
Why I'm going to hell: The first page I picked up was A4, which had a gray-boxed side story headed "Thomas may lose law license." The first thing I did was to start looking madly through the paper in search of the word "Clarence."
