This country is insane.
Don't believe me? Watch Washington Journal this morning.

That's all I got.

1. That show skeers me.

There are an awful lot of people on there who don't think like I do.

:scared:

2. So you are not a U.S. resident?
Because by saying "This country is insane" it sounds as if you are saying ALL of the citizens of this country are insane, including you. Blanket statements like that are just ridiculous. 300 million people and we're all insane. Hmm...time for someone to move to a sane country.

4. Collectively, IMHO, the U.S. is schizophrenic
Totally unpredictable in how we will deal with others.

7. Those ever-so-rare, ineloquent journalism hooks so easily distained
contribute immensely to portraying our erudite, highly-educated mainstream in a better comparative light

10. Correctamundo, but we often do and use the same tactics
that we accuse and condemn the Dark Side of using. Except when we do it then it is clever, righteous, and noble.

12. Does it really sound that way?
Didn't to me. I think I know exactly what the OP means, and I agree. The things that this country tries to accomplish, the things it claims to want to accomplish, and the things it worships seem pretty insane to me.

Doesn't matter that many Americans are sane. They don't seem to be able to push much of an agenda.

3. This Morning? Try Every Morning...
I admit I'm a sucker for a good train wreck, and the right wing callers and guests on this show are among the best/worst. The show's right wing lean also makes it entertaining at times as it's one of the rare opportunities to see a Grover Norquist or Billy the bloody Kristol go up against callers...watching their slow burn can be quite theraputic.

8. There is no "country" per se, just people and their actions
We assign our actions official status when undertaken as official act for institutions society continually reconstitutes,
but understanding "country" can be elusive if we divorce actions from individual agency.

The problem with mass media is
a.) the number of bobble heads that actually fit inside the one-eyed baby sitter is about how many fit the medium
b.) how money controls which bobble heads get to speak in the medium
c.) and who controls the money

The problem with government is
a.) the number of bobble heads
b.) and who controls the money
