1. Two reasons I like the graphic and where you should be if you're in New York Friday...

a) The obvious joke, as poet Robert Burns would have had it, on how "oft go awry" the "best-laid plans of mice" and Masters of the Universe. The Gran Moff Tarkins of Banking can strut about, for decades persuaded of their utter invincibility, in the more recent days of crisis just as fanatic in selling us on their indispensability. And yet disaster was programmed into the system as a condition of its predictable operation.

b) The fact that it really is the Death Star. It burned the planet, and still there are those high and low who seriously would like We the People to pay taxes and interest for a few generations solely to keep it in orbit about us, so that it can burn the planet some more. The supposed nightmare scenario, that the Wall Street monstrosities be allowed to complete their deserved self-detonation, is actually an essential outcome in freeing us from tyranny and creating a rational and humane replacement (by using the trillions being given to them at zero interest to instead start up new banking institutions that provide capital to businesses as a public-sector utility, the dreaded "socialism").
