The free market is the best and most opportunistic economic system we've had . .. ever.
Praise Messers Friedman, Hayek and Feldstien for introducing this highly sensible, fair and effective system to the USA, and let's hope it's here to stay forever and ever.

I mean, sure, there's going to be booms, bubbles and crashes every seven years, but COME on! The price is well worth it because in the end, we wind up with better jobs, better incomes and better lots in life (that is, if you work really . .. REALLY hard)!

Let's keep taxes low (especially on the wealthy), because with all of that capital and room to move, just think of how much of that wealth WILL trickle down to all of us despite what these Gloomy Gus naysayers think! That silly ol' national debt doesn't matter. We're going to balance budgets, conduct wars and live the American way of life as we always have because we're number ONE!

And just ignore all of these "fair trade" weirdos that talk all this "race to the bottom" nonsense. Job offshoring is great for America because it leads to better and more fruitful opportunities at home.

I'm so glad I'm finally seeing the light. Won't you?

12. The invisible hand can *goose* us!
I say this over the objections of geese who consider the term politically incorrect.

3. Thanks for the laugh.
The sad part is that there are still some who try to SELL that crap....even on DU.

Deregulation and "Free Markets" have been very good to a handful of the rich elite.
For those Americans who Work for a Living, not so much.

You had me going for a minute.

5. You're right about one thing.
Parts of this April 1 post, sadly, are taken almost verbatim from past barfings of so-called "New Democrats" currently swirling in my Red-X Toilet.

11. I couldn't agree more with every word of this post
We will soon return to the glory days of the 1990's when this country prospered under William Jefferson Clinton, the greatest President ever. As long as President Obama follows the advice of geniuses like Larry Summers, and my golf buddy Robert Rubin, we will have another surplus in short order!

Just think how the economy would BOOM if you threw slave-wage kids in the mix! Why, Nike wouldn't have to pay Indonesian 14 year olds to make their cross trainers!

20. An old pre-union rhyme
The golf links lie so close the mills
That almost every day
The little children can look out
And see the men at play.
