Damn! He's one of the good guys. 75 years old and still talks a mile a minute. And makes more sense than any dozen of the cable talking heads. Talking about Fox, he said you can have your own opinion, but you can't have your own facts.

Very depressing, though-- he was talking about newspapers and said even back in the heyday of ABC, TV news never had the ability to cover news like the print guys did and relied on the ink-stained wretches for most of their stories. And it's not getting any better.

1. News came from API & UPI which came from newspaper reporters.

I remember watching news in the old days. There was a local news cast then came the national and international news. Each took about 15 minutes. The reporters were real reporters not bimbos and bimbets.

2. Yes. It was their investigative abilities and not their looks that

mattered! I can't really blame all today's talking heads though. The damn networks changed the news to a profit center and cut way back on their travel and investigative abilities too!
