1. O.J. was an Alaskan? Who knew?
I always thought of him as a Buffalo Bill.

3. That's not a fair comparison
OJ escaped punishment on only two felonies, not seven. ;-)

because they both got off due to pathetic prosecution by the Government? Then I agree with you, OJ was a conviction waiting to happen until the prosecution, led by the idiotic, look at my new hairdo Marcia Clark (now a correspondent with ET, much better fit for this idiot) got into the fame business. All of this was assisted beautifully by the fantastic judicial leadership shown by Lance Ito who quite possibly single-handedly did more to reduce the field of law to the Nancy Grace led sideshow that it has become.

Both prosecutions were pathetic and carried out with the skill of a big dumb guy in a slaughterhouse with a sledgehammer. Any involved that still work in law should be disbarred for incompetence IMNSHO.

on edit: my usual pile of typos.

6. Yes, that's sort of what I mean...
Although the details differ, both Ted Stevens and O. J. Simpson got off because of incompetent prosecution, not because of a lack of evidence that they were guilty. So if anyone (e.g. Tweety) argues that this means Stevens is an innocent man who didn't deserve to have his career as a senator come to an end, it logically follows that he must also believe O. J. Simpson didn't deserve to have his life screwed up back in 1995.

Actually, in the case of Ted Stevens, it was an ideal outcome that highlights a strength in our democratic system. Even though his conviction failed due to a technicality, he still lost his seat in Congress because he fell into disfavor with the people for a legitimate reason, and that's exactly how it's supposed to work.
