UNIONTOWN, Pa. -- Police say a Fayette County mother drugged her 13-year-old daughter so the woman's boyfriend could get the girl pregnant.

Uniontown police say the 32-year-old mother is no longer able to have children but wanted a baby with her boyfriend.

Det. Donald Gmitter says the woman and her boyfriend attempted to impregnate the girl on three occasions. Det. Gmitter says the girl prevented the rapes. The girl's paternal grandmother reported the incidents to police.

The mother, whom the Post-Gazette is not naming to prevent identifying an alleged sex assault victim, is facing several charges, including endangering the welfare of children. The woman's attorney, Patrick McDaniel, did not immediately return a call for comment.
